The film tells of how a young adolescent, in the harsh context of a industrial working-class neighborhood in the city of Bilbao during the last dark years of the Franco dictatorship, embarks on a voyage of self discovery when he finds his passion lies in painting. In this hostile environment that seems pitted against beauty and art we meet a group of workers from a smelting factory who dedicate their free time to painting. They are painting enthusiasts who paint for their true love of art.
